so the first big competition of the year has officially ended here in lexington kentucky and a big wow to the highest winner. the rainy weather and mud didn't even seem to bother miss emily briggs who took three horses to this event. cleaning up in reining, barrel racing, jumping and even eventing, this lucky gal walked away with a total five wins and three places. we suspect she's been getting plenty of practice while showing off for that new trainer down at the ranch.

not a big surprise, that after mrs. briggs, the former international competitor, annice ward took home some ribbons with her own three horses. that big mare of hers brought in two blue ribbons from the show jumping portion of the test and her stallions brought in a blue and a red for eventing and show jumping. a big congrats to little miss likes to kill horses -whoops, sorry- to facing her fears and riding in the big classes though. we hope she enjoys those three blue wins and that one second.

mr. briggs honored the showing world with his cowboy presence as well during this event, though he didn't do nearly as well as his lovely wife. with one one first, one second and one third form this event, we're pretty sure he might have the idea to stick to his western afterall, that one third did come from a cross rails jumping class. though, it was nice to see him venturing outside of his comfort saddle.

then we had rider abigail warrington who fared well during this competition with a total of two wins and a place, she and that horse of hers didn't seem too affected by the conditions of this event when it came to the dressage ring, sadly in the preliminary eventing we believe the mud may have caused faults for the duo on the cross country and jumping courses which caused them to take second.

overall, it was an exciting weekend and i was thrilled to get out there and meet some of my lovely fans. see you next time!
